The Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory and Additional Protocol, often referred tosimply as the Inter-American Convention, is an international treaty that facilitates the process ofserving legal documents between member countries in the Americas. The convention wasadopted in 1975 and entered into force in 1978. Its primary purpose is to streamline thetransmission and execution of judicial requests, such as serving documents, obtaining evidence,and executing judicial decisions, across borders within the Americas.
